CCDF Director Kylee Williams shared an exciting update in regards to resources for our tribal children. Lakeshore Daycare Supplies Company based in California has been a long-standing and faithful supplier to our nation of diversified daycare supplies and educational and equipment needs. The director recently reached out to SCN and with the initiative under-take develop language flashcards specifically for the children of SCN. The purpose of the flashcards will be to promote and engage early learning of tribal Cayuga language for our youngest members. The cards will be a recognizable image on one side, with the Cayuga native language translation on the other side of the card. The variety of topics will include: colors, food, shapes, furniture, children’s toys, kitchen Items, outdoor items, clothes, animals, home and school items. 

The expected completion date is near October 2020. It is set and planned for distribution at upcoming tribal events for children within SCN and likely will be available for pickup at the CCDF offices at the SCN Tribal complex. There are a total of 260 flashcards in the box. Watch for updates on the arrival of the flashcards in the coming months.
