Grand Lake Casino recognized a significant need for a Portico addition on the front entrance of the casino, accommodating the comfort of their guests. Specifically to keep their guests out of the weather elements that frequent the plains of Oklahoma. Construction on the portico was completed in August of 2019 and has been an incredible asset to the casino since then.

Nick Birdsong, Assistant General Manager shared: “We wanted to provide a comfortable area for guests to enter the casino, whether they were being dropped off at the front door or walking in from the parking lot.”

In addition to comfort for the guest, the Portico was strategically built to redirect water from pouring onto the casino entrance and front of the building. The installed gutters now redirect the flow of water and snow to the rock gardens instead of the sidewalk area. This provides benefits that are both functional and aesthetically pleasing to the overall appeal of the casino.

The buildout of the Portico also allowed for better lighting to the front of the building to accommodate the evening visitors to the casino.  The portico build, combined with new LED lights, significantly increased the visibility of the parking lot, offering both convenience and security for all guests guests.

Since the installation of the Portico, Birdsong shared: “We’ve seen a significantly reduced amount of rain, snow, mud and dirt being tracked into the casino, keeping the floors updated and cleaner for a heightened guest experience.”

Grand Lake Casino wants to offer a special thank you, to Studio 45 Architects (S45) from Tulsa, Oklahoma for the build out and concept of the Portico. S45 also supplying construction plans and provided support through the entire project. Construction Services Group, out of Neosho, Missouri-CSG was responsible for the construction build of the Portico from beginning to end. Lastly, a thank you to the Seneca Cayuga Nation business committee who were a great support, intricately involved in the decisions of establishing plans and partners throughout the entire process.
