During the month of December 2004 and January 2005, the Indian Child Welfare Program participated in the following.
1. Participated in court proceedings in Tulsa County on the 20th of December involving a Peoria child.
2. Conducted a home visit to approve a home to become a foster/kinship home for a Peoria child on the 21st of December.
3. Conducted a home visit to approve a home to become a foster/kinship home for a Seneca-Cayuga family on the 31st of December.
4. Participated in Court proceedings in Tulsa County on the 5th of January involving a Peoria child.
5. Participated in the Ottawa County District Attorney’s Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meeting on the 7th of January.
6. Conducted a home visit to approve a home to become a foster home for the Tribes on the 7th of January.
7. Participated in Court proceedings in Washington County involving a Seneca-Cayuga family on the 10th of January.
8. Conducted a home visit in Pawhuska, to check on a Seneca-Cayuga family on the 11th of January.
9. Attended a Post Adjudication Review Board (PARB) meeting at the Ottawa County Courthouse on the 12th of January.
10. Participated in Court proceedings in the Court of Indian Offices (CFR) for one Seneca-Cayuga family and one Peoria family on the 13th of January.
11. Conducted a home visit to approve a home to become a foster home for the Tribes on the 14th of January.
12. Conducted a home visit to approve a home to become a foster home for the Tribes on the 14th of January.
13. Participated in a Week of the Young Child (WOYC) meeting at the Ottawa Tribe on the 14th of January.
14. Worked the afternoon at the Wellness Center on the 14th of January for the CHR Program.
15. Participated in the Ottawa County District Attorney’s Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) meeting on the 14th of January.
16. Traveled to Owasso to take a Seneca-Cayuga child on an outing on the 17th of January.
Currently, there are eleven children in Tribal custody and seventy-five children in State custody: Twenty-two from the Peoria Tribe; Eleven are placed with extended family members and eleven are in state custody and placed in state foster homes; thirty-nine children from the Seneca-Cayuga Tribe, twenty-one children in state foster homes and eighteen has been placed with extended family members; and fourteen children from the Ottawa Tribe that are in state custody.
